More experiments… science is exciting!

Last week we did a science experiment at home. Maya made a volcano, and we had a blast. I put together a slate with lots of photographs of the whole thing using the free iOS app Slate. The result worked out well. Adobe Slate is a great tool to show and tell stories.

Well that got Maya excited about doing experiments and we’ve been going strong in the experiment lab (AKA the kitchen) ever since! Maya went nuts on Kids YouTube and found tons of experiments to do. The most umm… colorful was one for an experiment about solids, liquids and viscosity… it involved making something call Oobleck. This lesson plan on Scientific American explains it quite well, but I can tell you that it definitely passed the 6 year old excitement test.

It’s watery…no it’s solid… WOAH!
