Teachers

ELC is currently comprised of 50 native-English teachers including teachers from:

  • Great Britain
  • America
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

Our teachers range in qualifications from accredited teaching certificates (RSA , Trinity, CELTA, TESOL, TEFL,) to bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees. They range in age, from mid-20s to late 40s, typically with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience teaching English to foreign students. All qualified teachers are provided with work permits by ELC. Most teachers have stayed in Thailand for a minimum of one year. ELC provides extensive orientation and ongoing training to all teachers.

Teachers require original copies of their diplomas and certificates in order for us to apply for a work permit from the Ministry of Labor and Welfare and teaching license from the Ministry of Education on their behalf. The process takes approximately 90 days and we are happy to assist our teachers in this regard.

ELC takes a very progressive view towards professional improvement and collegial partnership. We encourage our teachers to work together, share ideas and to participate in idea swapping sessions. This teamwork approach informs the ongoing drive to excellence that permeates our organization.

ELC uses teaching resources and ideas recommended by www.teachingfish.com, a world class esl resource site. Here are a few examples:
