The TOEFL and TOEIC
Preparation courses have the following objectives:
- To orient students
to the general and specific objectives of TOEFL/TOEIC
- To help improve
the students' level of confidence for taking the TOEFL/TOEIC
- To fully prepare
the students to take the TOEFL/TOEIC and achieve a satisfactory
outcome
The courses consist
of :
- A full-length
TOEFL/TOEIC practice test and score conversion
- Descriptions
of the format and content of the test
- Test-taking
strategies
- Tips for each
part of the test
- Strategies for
improving overall English language proficiency
The TOEFL preparation
course is 50 hours in duration and students must
achieve a placement test score equivalent to Level 7 of the
Intensive Program before they can enroll in the course.
The TOEIC Preparation course is 30 hours in duration and students
must achieve a placement test score equivalent to Level 6
of the Intensive Program.
What are TOEFL and TOEIC ?
TOEFL stands for
Test of English as a Foreign Language, and was designed for
foreign students seeking admission to colleges and universities
in North America. TOEIC, which stands for Test of English
for International Communication, on the other hand, is the
recognized standard for many organizations around the world
that need to evaluate the English proficiency of prospective
or existing employees.
